# Carport, Back Deck & Front Room Re-Sheet — Emu Heights — Crown Roofers project

> A three-part re-sheet in Emu Heights: white Colorbond corrugated over the carport and back deck, and clear polycarbonate over the front room and roller-door section so the daylight stays. Roughly 100 m² stripped, re-flashed and re-sheeted to AS 1562.1.

## Project details
- **Suburb:** Emu Heights, Western Sydney
- **Service:** Replacement
- **Duration:** 3–4 days on site
- **Completed:** July 2026

## Scope of work

Full strip and re-sheet of three separate roof sections totalling roughly 100 m²: the carport (~48 m²) and back deck (~37 m²) in white Colorbond corrugated, and the front section over the room and part of the roller-door opening (~15 m²) in clear polycarbonate. Existing sheeting removed and disposed of, with new sheeting, flashings, cappings and fixings throughout. Installed to AS 1562.1.

## The challenge

Three roofs, three different jobs — and only one of them wanted to be a metal roof. The carport and back deck needed to shed water and cope with constant gum litter, which points straight at Colorbond. But the front section sits over a room and part of the roller-door opening, and sheeting that in solid steel would have turned a bright space into a dark one. There was also no single roof plane to work from: each section has its own pitch, its own junctions with the existing house, and its own flashing details where new sheeting meets old brick, tile and gutter.

## The outcome

The two working roofs went back in white Colorbond corrugated — durable, low-maintenance, and light enough in colour to keep the carport from turning into an oven through summer. The front section was deliberately switched to clear polycarbonate so the room underneath and the area by the roller door keep their natural light instead of losing it to a steel deck. Every junction was re-flashed rather than patched around, so the weak points where the old sheets met the house are now properly sealed. Around three to four days on site once the material landed.

## Materials used

- White Colorbond corrugated sheeting — back deck (~37 m²)
- Clear polycarbonate sheeting (Laserlite / Suntuf profile) — front section (~15 m²)
- New flashings, cappings and fixings throughout
- Existing sheeting removed and disposed of off-site
- Installed to AS 1562.1 (design and installation of sheet roof and wall cladding)
