About This Project
Complete ridge cap rebed and re-point on a terracotta tile roof in Belmore. The original lime mortar had failed across most of the ridge length, allowing tile movement and water ingress during heavy rain. Crown Roofers removed every ridge tile, cleaned back to the bedding course, laid new polymer-modified mortar bedding, re-set the ridge tiles and finished with flexible coloured pointing.
The Challenge
Several ridge tiles had cracked from past patch-repair attempts — these had to be replaced with profile-matched terracotta to maintain a clean visual line.
The Outcome
A long-life ridge system that will move with the building rather than crack — the flexible pointing system carries a 15-year warranty. The homeowner had been chasing leak fixes for years and now has a permanent solution.
