Gutter Cleaning — Emerton

About This Project

Full residential gutter clean on a single-storey concrete-tile home in Emerton. Gutters had accumulated heavy organic debris from surrounding bougainvillea and street trees — leaf packs, twigs and seed litter were fully blocking flow at the downpipe junctions. Crown Roofers hand-cleared every gutter run, flushed the line through with water to confirm full flow, cleared all downpipes from the spout end, and bagged and removed the debris off-site. Roof sheets and valleys were checked for any incidental damage at the same time.

The Challenge

The bougainvillea overhang on the rear elevation had been dropping flower-heads and stem litter into the gutter for some time, so the leaf-pack had compacted into a near-solid mass and was holding water against the fascia. We had to hand-strip that section in layers to avoid washing the compacted material into the downpipe and creating a deeper blockage further down the line.

The Outcome

All gutters fully cleared, all downpipes flowing freely, and a quick photo-documented walk-around delivered to the homeowner. The roof sheets and valleys were confirmed sound — no damage discovered behind the debris. Recommended a 12-month inspection cadence given the surrounding tree cover.
